Mawgan Porth is a small seaside village, a few minutes to the north of Newquay, Cornwall.
Our Lakes have wooden platforms with paths which lead to & from the car parking area, so that what ever age or disability, you and your loves ones will be able to enjoy the peace & beauty of the county side.
Matches are regularly won with 200lb+ Weights and is becoming more and more popular with local match and pleasure anglers, see our results section to see how the lakes are currently fishing.
The coarse fishing Lakes are natural very beautiful, the wild life is in abundance, there are turquoise blue king fishers & elegant herons.
Day tickets, are £7.00, the gates are open from 7.30 in the morning until dusk. Special Pensioners day is on Thursday with cut price tickets of £6.00.
Competitions are held every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday as we have two lakes there is always some were to pleasure fish, one Rod or Pole per person, If you wish to fish any of our opens check the dates on the calendar page and do not hesitate to call or email to book yourself in.
At the moment we have three Golden pegs pots running, two off which are £200.00 pounds each.
Got Baits are awarding £100.00 of Baits as a reward for the 1st angler that bags 350lb in a match over 10 anglers only, if more than one angler in a competition should win, then this reward will be shared - Good luck, the top weight so far is 343lb 13ozs.
For pleasure anglers we hire equipment, all that you need to have a nice days fishing.
The Match Lake is stocked with Tench, Bream , Rudd & mainly Carp, weighing up to 5lb and averaging just under 2lb, In the Specimen Lake there are Carp, Tench, Bream, Blue & Golden Orfe, These weigh up to 15lb.

No Tiger Nuts, Boilies or Peanuts
Barbless Hooks Only Maximum Size 12
A Maximum 2kg Of Groundbait Per Angler
ALL MEAT baits are BANNED
If using pellets to feed only Mawgan Porth Pellets to be used and are available to buy on site you may use your own pellets on the hook
